A Southern Romance

I found this amazing website: www.bluegrassromance.com on my friend Megan's Blog. This has been a true inspiration. There are so many things that Jesse and I have never done here in the Good-Ole Bluegrass. I have lived here my entire life and my husband, Jesse, has been here since 2001. This idea of mini-missions really makes me think about all the things we say each year that we are going to do and of coure...never end up doing them. I have started a list of mini-missions I would like to challenge myself to complete (and with my lover):

1. Bourbon Trail (any or all of them)
2. Henry Clay Tour
3. Shaker Village
4. Hike Natural Bridge
5. Visit Cumberland State Park to see the Moonbow
6. Winery Tour (any or all of them)
7. Watch a Movie at the Kentucky Theater
8. Eat at Alfalfa’s
9. Louisville Slugger Museum
10. Mammoth Cave
11. Take a Pole Dancing Class
12. Take a stroll in the Arboretum
13. Go snow tubing at Perfect North (not in KY, but close)
14. Cinci-Red’s Game
15. See Wicked in Louisville in March
16. Dinner Cruise on the Belle of Louisville
17. Have a cousin’s photo shoot (Have been saying this for 3 years now)
18. Take a carriage ride through downtown Lexington
19. Have breakfast at Keeneland and watch the horses warm up
20. Go Horseback riding
21. Have Coffee at Common Grounds
22. Attend and Tailgate a UK football game (tickets anyone?)

What are your ideas of things to see/do in the Bluegrass Region that I may not know about or should re-visit and share with my husband?

Must. Buy. Now

OKAY! You don't have to tell me twice. These cute little green wedges will have a new owner by the middle of next week.

Now, I just need Mother-Nature to take the snow away and bring me warm weather and sunshine!

Get a Bikini Body in 4 Weeks - Fitness Magazine

Get a Bikini Body in 4 Weeks - Fitness Magazine

I have been a huge slacker since my crazy busy season started in October last year of traveling and going to night class two nights a week. I want to get toned up before the warm weather hits as somethings are not in the same spot they were when I was 25. I feel it's important to feel good and take care of your body. We only get one and I need it to last. I'll try to post up some before and after pics. If anyone wants to give this a try with me let me know. If will definately kick your booty (but isn't that the goal?).

Summer Glow

I am struggling with the fact that I am pasty, pasty white and I am so addicted to the tanning bed. I went almost one whole year using drug store self tanner and I have even Mystic tanned once or twice (which is a mess). Sun Tan City came out with the new revolution self tanner known as the VersaSpa. I was skeptical as I am sure most of you would be too if you have tried Mystic Tan, which is extremely uneven and makes you feel like you are suffocating while you are in the booth. My goal is to stay out of the tanning bed this year.

So, I went on a Sunday afternoon while it was 1/2 price. I was talked into the Amplifer Gel and the VersaSpa lotion (I usually will not buy those kinds of things). The booth is so much nicer than the Mystic tan. You step in and you position yourself 4 different ways as the nozels move up and down (there are a ton of nozels instead of just two in the Mystic). There is a ventilator behind you to suck in the extra spray so that you can actually breath. After the 4 sprays, you get a blow dry spray so that you don't have to "pat off" the afterwards. I waited a bit after getting out to make sure I was completely dry before getting dressed.

I did the medium dark clear (no bronzer, which means there is not immediate color). I would suggest wearing dark clothes when you go and for the next day as you might notice some color coming off as it sets into your skin. I noticed a huge difference in color by the time I went to be about 6 hours later. Note: you cannot shower for 6 hours after you spray and it does smell a little funky (like self tanner). The smell only lasts until you shower.

My color is very smooth and even. I have a few light spots around my thumbs and side of my hand from not getting the barrier cream on as well as I should but other than that, it was a great experience; I love it. The amplifer gel did exactly what it said it would, even out your skin's pH levels to give you a very even color. I wouldn't spray without it. I just started using the After Lotion that is suppose to help hold the color longer. I'll update later this week how long it lasts and if the lotion is worth it.

Don't tan, go spray!
