Different Day, Different Boot

Here it is. What we've all been waiting for. The arrival of my Ann Taylor Loft Over the Knee Boots.

**Note the little fur ball in the lower left corner and the little purple elephant placed on so carefully next to my boot. Thanks Maddy for contributing to the photo op.

Definately Over the Knee. Love, love, love them. Nikki does too.

You can even laugh hysterically in these boots...Hubby and I laughing like crazy at Maddy, the yorkie, as she tried to jump on the bed, purple elephant in her mouth and smacked head first into it. Nikki, photo hog thinks I'm a nut. as does the Hubby for buying boots that go half way up my leg. He knows zero about fashion. Geeze. Boys...

Overall Happiness: pretty dag-on high! I am so happy I decided to return the Marshall's boots (even though they are still pretty stinkin cute, especially if you are about 5'4" so they hit above your knee) and get the ATL ones...The ridiculousness of it is, I got them for about half off after all my discounts and they were cheaper than the Marshall's Me Too boots. The quality is wonderful, the leather is so soft, and they hit in just the right spot. I already have a million things in my head of what to wear with them. Now, mother nature needs to give us some fall weather so I can put them to good use.

  1. Hello Mindy! Absolutely loveee your blog. AND it is funny how we were having the same problem. So I posted this somewhere else but I am going to post again haha. OK so I got the marshall me too boots and I was happy about them but i didnt LOVE them. I found the ATL over the knee boots just like ones you got but black. I got them and I was hoping the I could wear them over the knee but also fold them over (the website lied- did you notice that? They said that you could also fold them over "fold-over styling") blah blah they lied. OK anyways, I went to marshalls today to hopefully get the me too boots again and return the ATL ones but they were not there :( so now im in a pickle. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT to do, I feel like it is so hard to wear the over the knee boots, no? I need some help and maybe you can help me make my final decision because I have the ATL boots packed up in the box ready to ship them back

  2. NOOOOO!! Don't do it!

JK...kinda. I'm glad you are liking the blog!

I didn't know that the ATL ones folded over, but I'm not a huge fan of the fold over and they are constantly sold out, so I probably wouldn't have noticed. I think it looks much like "true" riding boots straight up (thank you World Equestrian Games for showing me real riding boots). I just saw the new sherpa lined pair (love, love them....geeze ATL why do you keep me sucking me back in?) and they appear to be folded online, maybe you should try those instead. I've never seen the Peter ones folded. Hum....makes me wonder if they could fold...oh but I guess you said they can't be folded....I am obsessed with mine and wear them at least 3-4 days a week now that the weather is cooling down. Get a pair of jeggings to try on with them if you haven't already done so. It's ridiculous how many compliments I get on them. I think ou may regret taking them back (unless you get the sherpa pair).

Those Me Too ones went fast! I haven't checked my local Marshalls in a few weeks, but I know another reader was having problems finding them at her store and they are not online anywhere! Trust me, I looked. Seems odd to me considering I'd never saw them anywhere last year. I didn't like the belted thing around the calf, on the ME Too ones. It was way to big and couldn't go any smaller.

Keep me posted! I'd love to know what you end up doing. All in all, if you don't love them then it's a waste of $$ to keep them. I think I saw black OTKB on Victoria's Secret earlier today...they laced up the back like the Me Too's and possibly folded over. Aldo has a cute pair similar to ATL ones....may check those out and see if those make you happier :).

  3. I still have them packed up in my room and i look at them daily, confused. What do you think about the Perry D Ring Leather Flat Boot on ATL. I was thinking maybe I could send the OTK back and get those, let me know what you think!

I have so many jeggings and I also only like the ones with the button. I have 2 black (forever 21 has cheap cheap ones and I got a DKNY ones at tjmaxx, great price) and I also have gray ones but i dont know what it is with the boots. ahhh I dont really want to return them but maybe I am just trying to wrong clothes with them. If I pair them up with leggings and a long shirt that covers my butt then it looks like my boots are my pants, haha there is no room between the shirt and the boots. I wish I could have every pair of boots out there. Last night, I was really thinking of sending them back and getting the Perry D Ring Leather Flat Boot. I hate making decisions!

Let me know what you think :) and thanks for all the great feedback

  4. How tall are you? That could be the problem. I have pretty long legs even though I"m only 5'6" so they only hit right above me knee not completely over.

I saw those D-ring ones in the store and thought they were really cute! I'm on a hunt for a black pair of boots. I wear my Peter OTKB with dresses a lot and my jeggings (definatly with the buttons! Not sure how I'd even get the others over my butt...) I haven't tried leggings and a long shirt. For some reason that is not something I can pull off very well...ends up looking like I have gumby legs or like I just need to put some pants on....lol!

  6. Do you know how often more sizes of these boots come back in? I've finally decided to buy a pair and they sell out fast!

  7. I am not sure. If I were ou, I'd call 1-888-LOFT-444 then can locate you a pair from one of the stores (this is what I had to do because they were completely sold out online when I wanted them). They are 30% off till the end of tonight!

The are called the Peter Riding Boot. Good luck. If not, just keep checking the ATL site over, and over, and over till they come back up. I usually wear an 8-8 1/2 and I went with the 8 in them if that helps you with sizing.

  8. Ok thanks! I called and went for the 8 even though I am a 7.5 sometimes too, uh oh. We shall see if any come up on the site!

  9. I probably could have worn the 8.5 with boot socks...so hopefully they will work! Let me know what you think of them!

  10. MLR - been searching high and low for these boots as they are oos onine! :( Anyhow, during my search, came accross your blog and love it! Funny that in my search for otkb, I narrowed it down to the Peter ones by ATL and Vince Camuto Fays, which is similar to the MeToo you got. My friend thinks I'm insane, but when I set my mind on it, I just have to find it!! Needless to say, I just assumed it's not avail online, and calling stores within acceptable radius was unsuccessful as well....that is, until I read the end of this post and your suggestion to call the number (just assumed it would not be useful so I never bothered til your post) and yippeeee...they located one for me at some store!!! Also helpful is the sizing you indicated...like you, I can fluctuate between an 8-8.5 but given that there were no 8.5 available, I was comforted to know that the 8 will work for me. Can't wait til they arrive!! Thanks again!!! Q

  11. I can't wait for you to get them! You are going to love them. I hope they fit. I ordered the black sherpa lined ones in an 8 and they are perfect too. Got a heeled ATL boot last weekend and had to get an 8 1/2 and the flats I have from ATL are 8 1/2...so I think you'll be fine with the 8. I have a little "obessesion" issue as well...the girl at my local ATL told me that Peter boot was "sold out everywhere" and after 3 days I called the 1-800 number because I couldn't stop thinking about them. Glad you found me and your boots!

  12. MLR...thanks for your response/feedback...Just wanted to update you that I had to sadly return the Peter OTKB. Given the high demand and oos status, what I did get was very 'worn' out looking. Secondly, it was too snugged on my feet for comfort. Lastly, I love the OTK look but I think on me, it looked a bit awkward (5'3"). HOWEVER...I am happy to report that once again, thanks to your post, I looked further into the Percy and realized that it also came in the brown (I saw it was avail. in black online and didnt even think that brown was offered..duh!). So went to a local store to try them on for size and on these, the 8's fit perfectly with a little room for socks!?!? So, long story short, I got the Percy Shearling and love them! Love the color, love the flexibility to go OTK or cuffed partway down!!! Thanks again for your feedback/response & keep on bloggin'!!! Q
